We met at 7:30 in the Fireside Room of Alum Rock United Methodist Church. We briefly reviewed basic tenets of the Indivisible Guide and the values we embrace from it. We discussed IESJ’s participation in Viva Calle San Jose which will be held next Sunday, September 17th – 10 AM to 3 PM. A sign-up sheet was passed to secure volunteers at our table. We reviewed a draft flyer for use at our Viva Calle table. No edits were suggested.
We wrote 45 postcards to our Members of Congress – focusing on Defending DACA Recipients (making sure the Dream Act is attached to every must-pass bill in Congress), Opposing H.R. 3697 (criminalizes immigrants) and Preventing War with North Korea (urging MOC’s to speak out against Trump’s warmongering).
